I'm finally done. So that's great news! I finally have everything copied and adapted off of a platform I can't afford to trust, secured my content on a place I own, and it should be readable here forever. I've even been able to improve the format in some ways, for example, using textual code blocks instead of screenshots, which is better for screen readers and copy-paste alike. In fact, if I contribute Prone syntax parsing to Prism.js (which I plan to do someday), my old code samples should retroactively gain syntax highlighting!
It's been exhausting, but the real thing I find frustrating is how much it's bottlenecked other creative work I care about putting out. It's been hard to make any progress on Prone itself, I've really paused any new writing about it, and I have a couple articles queued up that I haven't been able to release without interrupting the archive.
So, if you hate the noisy paste of posts I've been dumping into my RSS feed, tough luck. Now you're going to get inundated with new content instead of old migrated content. If anything, I'm more excited than ever to put new text on this site, as it's way more creatively fulfilling to write than edit. It's the end of an era, but thank god. I'm excited for the new one and the new year!
